Derek Hilbert

Derek Hilbert is the owner of Kingfisher Recruiting. The company was launched in February 2025 after Derek saw an opportunity to approach agency recruiting differently.

Previously, Derek had led Talent Acquisition for North America at Electrolux and Hanes and had worked as a Workforce Planning Strategist at Lowe’s Home Improvement, and a Recruiter at General Motors and Infinity (Partner company of Google).

Prior to that, Derek served in the United States Marine Corps for 12 years ending his enlistment as a Staff Sergeant on Recruiting Duty in Novi, Michigan. He served over 5 years in the Infantry supporting combat operations in Iraq and 5 years on a General Staff reporting on Current Operations.

Derek holds a Master of Science in Management degree from Walsh College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Derek and Sarah live in New Hudson, Michigan with Aston the wonder dog. In their free time they can be found watching Formula 1, Sportscar racing, Red Wings Hockey, or Birding.
